At least 10 people, including three children, were killed after a private jet crashed in central Mexico on Monday, Mexican authorities confirmed. The aircraft slammed into an industrial building near Toluca International Airport and burst into flames on impact.
The crash took place in the San Pedro Totoltepec area, west of Mexico City. Local and state officials said the aircraft was a Cessna Citation III business jet operated by Jet Pro. It had taken off from Acapulco and was en route to Toluca when the accident occurred.
Authorities confirmed that eight passengers and two crew members were on board the jet, and all occupants died in the crash.
According to Mexican local media, air traffic control audio captured moments before the incident reveals the pilot reporting an emergency. In the recording, the pilot is heard saying, “We are going down,” after controllers asked for an update on the aircraft’s status.

The jet crashed into a warehouse used as a clothing manufacturing facility. Officials said the building was empty at the time, as operations had been suspended the previous week, preventing any casualties on the ground. However, the collision triggered a major fire at the site.
Mexico’s Secretary of Security stated that the country’s aviation authority will carry out a technical investigation to determine the cause of the crash and the conditions that led to the fatal accident.
