A Tragic train accident took place in Silchar-Jiribam railway route where an elderly man died on June 11. The 90 years-old man came under a running train and the accident occurred.
The incident occurred in early morning on the Silchar-Jiribam railway route in the area of Laothai village of Udharbond, Cachar. The deceased identified as Nilbraj Singha, 90 years old. He came under the running train and died on the spot.
According to locals, he was trying to cross the railway track and a running train crossed hit him. After the accident crowed of locals gathered in the spot to recovered the dead body. The locals called the Officials and said about the incident.
The Police reached immediately at the spot and recovered the dead body. Later the dead body was sent to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for the postmortem for examination.
This type of railway crossing related accident are increasing day by day in Barak Valley of Assam. A Few days back, a four-wheeler was stuck while trying to cross the railway-track and a goods carrying train hit the car.
