LPG Domestic Gas price will increase by Rs 50 per cylinder; Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated on Monday, April 7. Following the revision, the cost of a 14.2-kg LPG Gas cylinder price will rise from ₹803 to ₹853 for regular consumers. Beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme will now pay ₹553 per cylinder, up from the previous ₹503.
From Tomorrow i.e; April 8 the increase price of cooking gas will come on effect. Means from tomorrow the price of the cooking gas will Rs 50 more.
During Press conference Puri said on Monday, “The Rs 50 increase per cylinder is for both Ujwalla beneficiaries and non-Ujwalla beneficiaries. This will be reviewed every 15 days or one month whichever is the system.”
It is important to know that the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders had remained unchanged since August 2024—until the recent hike.
On April 1, oil marketing companies reduced the price of 19-kg commercial cylinder by Rs 41.
Meanwhile, the central government on Monday, April 7, announced a ₹2 per litre hike in excise duty on both petrol and diesel. According to the official order, the new rates will take effect from Tuesday, with excise duty on petrol rising to ₹13 per litre and on diesel to ₹10 per litre.
