A heinous crime has taken place in the hospital of Kolkata, where a woman postgraduate trainee (PGT) doctor has raped and murdered.
On August 9, morning a semi-nude body of a woman doctor was found inside a seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. This hospital is run by government.
The victims was a second-year student of the chest medicine department. She was on duty when, she was allegedly rapped and murdered. Her dead was recovered lying on a blood-stained mattress.
Preliminary Autopsy reports declared that she was raped before being murdered. The autopsy reports said that, “There was bleeding from both her eyes and mouth, injuries over the face and nail. The victim was also bleeding from her private parts. She also has injuries in her belly, left legโฆ neck, in her right hand, ring finger andโฆ lips.โ
Kolkata Doctor Raped and Murdered Case main Accused Arrested
In a overnight breakthrough, police have arrested the main suspect, Sanjay Roy, in the case of a postgraduate trainee doctor’s alleged sexual assault and murder in Kolkata. They used a crucial piece of evidenceโa Bluetooth headphone left at the crime sceneโto identify him.
Soon after the incident was reported to the police station by the hospital authorities, Kolkata Police arrived at the hospital and checked the CCTV footage. Among the CCTV they list suspects.
They also arrived at the crime scene and collects evidence, Bluetooth headphones was among the evidence.
In the CCTV footage the police saw that Sanjay Roy was entering at the hospital at around 4 am and interrogating police. Sanjay Roy was a civic volunteer, so he can easily access to the hospital.
As per CCTV he was entering the hospital wearing Bluetooth phone, but when he went out earphone was not there. So, this earphone is a very important evidence. Sources say the police found the earphone and traced it, which helped them solve the case.
The accused has confessed the crime, reported in News18.
The accused charged under section 64 (rape) and 103 (murder) of BNS and produced before Sealdah court. He was sent to 14-days police custody.
