Assam Cabinet has approved the decision to hike Dearness Allowance (DA)/ Dearness Relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners by 3 %, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Sunday.
With the hike of the 3 % DR/DA for the state government and pensioners will now be 53% w.e.f July 1st, 2024.The enhanced rate of 53% DA/DR shall be paid along with the monthly pay/ pension of October 2024 and will be payable in November, 2024.
Additionally, the arrears for the DA/DR for the months of July, August, September, and October 2024 will be paid in four equal installments. These installments will be provided in December 2024, January 2025, February 2025, and March 2025, respectively.
At a press conference following the state cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister declared the recent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees as a Diwali gift. This increase raises the DA from 46% to 50%, which was implemented earlier in March this year.
