A Helicopter ferrying Char Dham Passenger crash near Gangnani, Uttarkashi of Uttarakhand at around 8:45 am on May 8. The helicopter was on the way to Gangotri Dham from Dehradun.
According to reports, the helicopter was carrying seven people including pilot, 6 died and one suffered several injuries. Among the six people, one is pilot and other are female tourist.
According to officials, the helicopter crash took place at around 8:45 am near Gangnani, on the Gangotri National Highway. Police, SDRF, Fire department, medical team and other emergency personel immediately rushed to the incident area, after receiving information.
A Force stated that, “The team found that the helicopter had fallen into a gorge 200-250 metres deep. The team established a base at the location and began the rescue operation by descending into the gorge. The pilot of the helicopter was Captain Robin Singh. There were a total of seven people on board the helicopter, including one pilot and six passengers. SDRF is conducting rescue operations at the site in coordination with the local police and other emergency units”

6 people died in Uttarakhand Helicopter crash
The people who lost there life, identified as Kala Soni (61), Vijaya Reddy (57), Ruchi Aggarwal (56) from Mumbai, Radha Aggarwal (79) from Uttar Pradesh and Vedavati Kumari (48) from Andhra Pradesh. Robin Singh, a 60 years old pilot also died in the Helicopter crash.
A 51 years old man name Bhaskar, injured and is being treated from the helicopter crash.
Following the incident CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said via X, “A deeply saddening report has been received about casualties in a helicopter crash near Gangnani in Uttarkashi. SDRF and district administration teams immediately reached the site to carry out relief and rescue operations.
May the Almighty grant peace to the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense loss.
The administration has been directed to provide all possible assistance to the injured and to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. I am in constant touch with the officials and closely monitoring the situation.”
