The BCCI has decided to suspended all the remaining matches of India Premier League (IPL) 2025 as because of rising tension between India and Pakistan. The IPL 2025 suspended decision came after the Punjab Kings Vs Delhi Capital matches on May 8, in Dharamsala called off due to safety measures.
On May 8, in the mid of the PK Vs DC match in Dharmsala, has called off due to air raids alerts in nearby regions of Jammu and Kashmir. The Black Out instantly after alert and said all the people to leave the stadium. The IPL 2025 match has completed its 58 matches in this series and a total of 12 league fixtures including Final match at Kolkata remains.
According to BCCI statement, “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week. Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders.“
This is the second IPL match that suspended in the midway through seasons. In 2021, the IPL match suspended in the midway due to rising the Covid 19, later the second phase was played in UAE.
With the IPL now suspended by the BCCI, the main focus is to safely send all players and officials back to their homes. Many foreign players and staff are likely to leave as early as today.
A senior BCCI official, stated PTI, remarked, “It does not look nice that cricket goes on while the country is at war.” The suspension has put the rest of the season in doubt. The tournament supposed to end on May 25 in Kolkata, but now nothing is certain.
The BCCI board has not announced any date of resumption of remaining matches of the season.

Black Out Enforced in Jammu, Rajasthan, Pakistan due to Tension arises
In Jammum, Srinagar and Several cities near Pakistan Border has enforced all night black out. In Punjab, a total black out enforced till 5 am. Rajasthan blackout enforced in Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Barmer.
Punjab has shut down all schools in its six border districts. In Chandigarh, the shared capital of Punjab and Haryana, all schools will stay closed until Saturday. Rajasthan has also closed schools and colleges in several districts. This morning, two schools in Delhi — DPS RK Puram and DPS Mathura Road — announced they will also remain closed.
