On 5 February a team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption caught red handed and arrested a police constable for accepting bribe. The constable is identified as Lance Naik Gouidur Rahman Barbhuiya Police Constable of Sadar police station in Hailakandi district, Assam. The arrest followed a complaint alleging bribery, involving Rs 6,000, for providing relief in a criminal case.
Police Constable arrested in Hailakandi in Bribery caharge:
The incident unfolded when a man, recently granted bail, visited Sadar police station to submit bail letters. Barbhuiya allegedly demanded Rs 6,000 in exchange for assistance.
Upon learning of the bribery attempt, the complainant approached the vigilance-anti-corruption unit, prompting a coordinated operation.

Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam team trapped red handed Lance Naik Gouidur Rahman Barbhuyan, LC of Hailakandi Police Station, after he accepted demanded bribe in the Police Station for giving relief in a criminal case.
Swift Action:
Today, as the accused constable accepted the money, the vigilance-anti-corruption team intervened and promptly arrested him. The constable is currently in the custody of the vigilance-anti-corruption unit, awaiting transportation to Guwahati for further legal proceedings.

In the First trap a team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Coruption caught red handed Intaz Mondal,i/c Dy CEO, Zilla Parishad, South Salamara &i/c BDO Fekamari, after he accepted demanded bribe in O/O the Zilla Parishad for payment of bills related to works under Jal Jeevan Mission.

A complaint lodged with the Directorate accused Mondal of demanding a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant for settling bills related to works under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Mondal, serving as an Extension Officer in the Fishery Department in Dhubri, also held positions of Incharge Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Zilla Parishad and Incharge Block Development Officer at Fekamari Block of South Salmara.
