When the initial list of beneficiaries did not include Assam University, Pritam raised a formal memorandum and stayed in constant communication with Hon’ble Dr. Ranoj Pegu to advocate for the rights of fellow students.
Speaking on the development, Pritam Acharjee said:
“This decision is a victory for every student who believed their voice matters. I thank the Hon’ble Chief Minister and Education Minister for responding to our call and extending the scheme to our university. I am proud to have played a part in this journey and remain committed to standing up for student rights.”
The initiative also received crucial support from Baskar Goswami (President, AUSU Ad-Hoc Committee) and Biswarup Bhattacharjee (Former AUSU President), whose timely engagement and leadership helped ensure the matter reached the highest levels of the government.
This achievement stands as a proud moment for AssamUniversity and a shining example of what can be achieved when students unite for a common cause. Let this milestone inspire many more to stand up, speak out, and strive for change.
