A shocking incident took place, where a man allegedly killed his wife in drunken stage in Borkhola, Cachar on Thursday night, March 27.
According to reports, a man in a drunken stated killed his wife during a heated argument. The accused identified as Bunu Goala. He attacked his wife Pini Goala under the influence of alcohol with a machete (dao) repeatedly, killing her at the spot.
The local residents of the area called the police. Police arrived at the scene immediately and took the accused into custody. This incident has trigged tension in the area.
Police launched an investigation.
A neighbours stated that the accused always returned home in a drunken state and often quarrel with his wife and also beat her every day. He also mentioned that earlier too he had taken the machete to cut her, but on Thursday night, the situation took a deadly turn.
Meanwhile the police recovered the dead body and sent it to SMCH for postmortem.
