Massive Fire Broke out at a Nandini Enterprise shop at Ambicapatty Point, Silchar at afternoon on December 4, 2024.

According to information, locals called the emergency service, after receiving the information three Fire Brigade went to the scene and tried to control the fire. Police team also arrived at the scene.

On Wednesday afternoon fire broke out at Nandini Enterprise a business establishment building situated Ambicapatty point, Silchar. Before the employee could react the flames of fire spread, completely consuming the shop. After that the fire then extend to a neighbouring pharmacy.

In addition to that a residential building located at the back also served damages. Later 8 fire tenders reached from various services at the spot and brought the fire under control. Two SBI ATMโ€™s and PNB were narrowly escaped from Fire flame.

A local employee from a nearby press described the incident, saying, โ€œAt around 11:30 AM, we saw flames coming from the first floor of Nandini Enterprise. The fire was quickly put out, so we returned to work. But around 1 PM, people started shouting again that the fire had reignited and spread quickly. Two shops, including Nandini Enterprise and Scientific Reason Pharmacy, were completely gutted. The fire also spread to the CPI(M) office on the first floor and a nearby home.โ€

Cachar SP Numal Mahatta, however, stated that the fire was caused by a gas cylinder blast. He said, โ€œWe received assistance from ONGC and Assam Rifles fire services to control the fire, and it is now under control. Thankfully, there were no injuries or casualties. Our preliminary investigation suggests a gas cylinder was responsible for the blaze. We are coordinating efforts to prevent any further complications. Locals have requested additional security at night since the shops remain vulnerable, and we have assured them of police presence.โ€

Multiple fire tenders responded to the scene, and the situation has now been brought under control. The estimated damage from the fire is in the lakhs, and further investigations are underway. Cachar SP Mahatta, Additional SP Subrata Sen, and Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty visited the site to assess the situation.

In Video footage it is seen that that fire officials are trying to stop the fire.
