Karimganj Police on 4 April seized more than 600 grams of Heroin and arrested a person in connection of it.
Based on secret information, Karimganj Police on Wednesday launched an operation led by SP Partha Protim Das in the area near Kaisthagram area. There they managed to intercepted a car and recovered 50 soap boxes containing 601.83 grams of heroin which was concealed within a secret chamber of the vehicle.
The registered number of the car is AS/10/G/ 0379, which travelling from Mizoram when it stopped for interception.
The arrested individual whose identity is not revealed yet. The police has took him into custody for interrogation. This incident shows quick action against those connected to drug trafficking. The confiscation of heroin, worth crore, underscores the scale of the operation and its potential to reduce the influx of drugs into the region.

Karimganj Police has post an image by stating, “#WarOnDrugs An anti-narcotics ops was launched at Kayasthagram under Nilambazar PS. A vehicle was intercepted, leading to the recovery of 50 soap boxes (Total= 601.83 grams) of heroin. One person was apprehended in connection with this.”
