On February 5 night, Assam Police conducted a successful anti-narcotics operation in Ramkrishna Nagar, Karimganj. There they success to seized a huge amount of suspected heroin. They also arrested to drug peddler who are carrying the suspected things.
Karimganj Police Operation Details:
Based of some secret information a vigilant police team led by Police Superintendent Parthapratim Das initiated a search operation in the area Charapar of Ramkrishna nagar, Karimganj. The operation targeted a vehicle suspected of transporting illegal narcotics.
During the search, the police intercepted the vehicle and discovered 52 shop boxes concealed with heroin. The contraband, weighing 612 grams, ingeniously hidden within the vehicle’s seat. To recover the heroin, the police compelled to cut through the seat, revealed the illicit drugs.
Apprehension of Suspects:
In connection with the drug bust, Assam Police apprehended two individuals identified as Fhoaz Ahmed and Mahmub Hussain. Both suspects hail from Kaliganj Khagail, Karimganj.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the relentless efforts of the Assam Police in their ongoing battle against drug trafficking. Praising their successful operation, he lauded their dedication to maintaining law and order in the state. He post in the X by sayoing, “Based on a specific input, Karimganj Police launched an anti-narcotics operation and intercepted a vehicle coming from a neighbouring State. 612 grams of heroin were seized from secret chambers of the vehicle & two people have been apprehended in this regard. Well done Assam Police!”
The seizure of heroin underscores the proactive measures taken by law enforcement agencies to curtail the illicit drug trade. Assam Police’s vigilance and swift action serve as a deterrent to criminal activities, reinforcing the commitment to a drug-free society.
Earlier On January 29 Cachar Police launched out an search operation in the neighbouring state at Loknathpur, Bhaga, Dholai. There they success to seized 460 grams of Methamphetamine and 1.531 kg of heroin. Additionally, two suspected drug peddlers arrested.
