A wave of emotion has transformed into a massive digital movement in Assam. People of Assam state rally online demanding #JusticeForZubeenGarg, Assam’s most loved cultural icon and Singer. What began as a heartfelt post by actress Amrita Gogoi has now evolved into one of the most powerful online campaigns in recent memory.

The hashtags #We_Need_ZubeenGargJustice_within_10days and #JusticeForZubeenGarg have taken over social media. This becoming symbols of unity and determination of Assam on love of Zubeen Da. The movement gained tremendous momentum after Garima Saikia Garg, Zubeen’s wife, and Palmee Borthakur, his sister, joined the campaign, amplifying its emotional impact across Assam.

Within hours, Garima’s Facebook post broke engagement records — crossing 50,000 likes, 38,000 comments, and nearly 9,000 shares — turning her plea into a viral online phenomenon. As of 3:30 pm the post has 70K likes, with 54.1K comments and 12K shares. Amrita Gogoi’s original post also drew huge traction, 5.6K of reactions, 2.7 K comments and 249 shares.

The Hashtags #JusticeForZubeenGarg That Ignited a Movement

On Monday morning, Amrita Gogoi urged the public to participate in a synchronized online protest. In her post she stated, “We are thinking of a digital movement.

Today on all social media platforms, we will write two sentences together at a certain time. Whether this movement has or not an impact on the judicial process, but everyone will get the realization that we are still united.

So today morning i.e. 13/10/2025 Monday at 10 o’clock, everyone will write –

#we_Need_ZubeenGargJustice_within_10days.

#JusticeForZubeenGarg

The simplicity of her words struck a chord across Assam. Within hours, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) were flooded with posts echoing the same hashtags — reshared by thousands in a unified digital outcry.

Celebrities, Politicians, and Citizens Join the Wave

The movement has since drawn widespread support from public figures including Politician Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi, Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi, Bhupen Bora, and artistes such as Manas Robin, Dikshu Sharma, Manashi Dutta, and Maitrayee Patar. Media personalities like Nitumoni Saikia and Sunit Bhuyan have also amplified the campaign, transforming it into a true people’s movement.

A Digital Protest Fueled by Emotion

The campaign’s rise coincides with public frustration over the ongoing CID investigation into Zubeen Garg’s death in Singapore. As questions mount and official updates remain scarce, social media has become the primary space for citizens to express grief, anger, and solidarity.

For thousands of fans, these hashtags represent more than just words — they are a heartfelt stand for justice. “We grew up with Zubeen’s voice. Now it’s our turn to speak for him,” one user wrote online.
