In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested 13 individuals in Pune, Maharashtra, on Saturday. On the ongoing investigation into an ISIS terror conspiracy. The arrests follow extensive raids conducted at 44 locations across Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The NIA, in collaboration with local police forces, executed raids at various locations. The search operation covered 1 place in Karnataka, 2 in Pune, 31 in Thane Rural, 9 in Thane city, and one in Bhayandar. The joint efforts aimed to unearth a conspiracy by the global terror group ISIS to carry out attacks across India. This was reported by ANI.

Officials revealed that the anti-terror agency worked closely with police forces in Maharashtra and Karnataka to coordinate the raids. The arrests are a result of the NIA’s thorough investigations. The investigations aimed at preventing the terrorist outfit from executing its plans to spread violence and terror in India.

The case revolves around a criminal conspiracy orchestrated by the accused and their associates. The case regarding an ISIS terror conspiracy registered by NIA in Maharashtra by June month of 2023. In the month of July, NIA arrested Tabish Nasser Siddiqui from Mumbai, Sharjeel Shaikh and Zukfikar Ali Barodawala from Thane, Zubair Noor Mohammed Shaikh known as Abu Nusaiba from Pune and Dr. Adnan Sarkar from Kondhwa, Pune.
