Hyderabad Gulzar House Fire: 17 dead, Among 8 children

Today, Massive fire broke out in the G+2 building at Gulzar House Chowrasta, Charminar, Hyderabad in the morning. At least 17 people died, among them 8 children and 5 woman.

The cause of fire is not known yet, but it is suspected that a short circuit may led the tragedy. The fire emergency service immediately rushed to the scene after the incident.

A fire department officials stated that they received the call at around 6:30 am and rushed immediately. Eleven fire engines rushed to the scene and took control of the fire. The inured person were sent to the hospital.

Minister Kishan Reddy Gangapuram stated, “Inspected the fire accident site at Gulzar House near Charminar, Hyderabad today. Discussed with senior officials handling the situation regarding rescue and relief operations, and urged them to provide immediate medical support and help.

The Govt. of India will provide necessary support and assistance. I request the State Govt. to take all necessary precautions including fire safety audit of buildings, to avoid such mishaps in future.

My heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident and prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured.”

PM Narendra Modi Stated, “Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire tragedy in Hyderabad, Telangana. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM”
