Guwahati Police uncovered a large robbery network operating at the city, after arresting seven robbers on November 24, 2025. This robbery network involved over 50 gang members, including Uber and Rapido drivers, as well as vegetable traders.
The gang active across the Guwahati city and the group was caught during a robbery attempt in the Zoo Road area.
The gang scouted locations during the day while posing as rideshare drivers and traders, then carried out robberies at night.
This robbery network were exposed during the interrogation of seven arrested members, who revealed the gang’s base in Dhubri, Barpeta, and Darrang districts. Among the seven arrested, one works as an Uber driver on the day time.
Guwahati Police analysis call record revealed they planned their crimes after 2 a.m. and struck weekly.
The gang’s methods and wide network have raised concerns among authorities, leading the city police to plan a crackdown on its members in the coming days.
