In a joint operation, Guwahati Police coordination with the Special Operation Groups (SOG) and Meghalaya Police successfully arrest 6 people interstate bike theft racket.
Following on tip off from reliable sources, a operation was launched in Assam and arrested three bike theft first. The bike theft identified as Md. Abdul Hanif Seikh (32) from Dhubri district, Md. Rafiq Ali (30) from Kamrup (R), and Md. Jakir Hussain (27) from Barpeta.
Their arrest provided critical information about the gang’s operations and led to police of Meghalaya. According to the information disclose during interrogation lay a trap and arrested three more suspect near India-Bangladesh Border. The arrested are identified as Dibormi Amrynsong, Tunadahun Matra, and Rimiki Suchiag, all from West Jaintia Hills. They are identified as receivers of the stolen vehicles.
Police recovered three stolen bikes, 2 Royal Enfield bikes (AS01FJ7567 & AS01FE3496), 1 Bajaj Avenger (AS01DU2357) – from Muktapur near international border were recovered following interrogation.
Other items like 3 master keys, 1 iron cutter hand saw and other lock breaking equipments were also seized.
Guwahati Police stated, โSOG WGPD & a team from Gorchuk PS acted on an intel & arrested 3 veteran bike lifters – Md Abdul Hanif Seikh (32) of Dhubri, Md Rafiq Ali (30) of Boko & Md Jakir Hussain (27) of Baghbor.
Following interrogation, 2 R15 bikes were recovered at Jowai and arrested 3 receivers – Dibormi Amrynsong (26), Tunadahun Matra (25) & Rimki Suchiag (22), all from West Jaiantia Hills – on the spot.
Another 3 stolen bikes – 2 Royal Enfield bikes (AS01FJ7567 & AS01FE3496), 1 Bajaj Avenger (AS01DU2357) – from Muktapur near international border were recovered following interrogation.
Other items like 3 master keys, 1 iron cutter hand saw and other lock breaking equipments were also seized. Legal action initiated.โ
