An Anti-Corruption team today, August 6 arrested a Lat Mandal and a driver associated with the office on bribery charges.
As per reports, today an anti-corruption team has launched an operation and arrest Lat Mandal, Rahiram Mondal, Officer of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office along with driver Dhruv Nath. They have arrested after accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000.
The illegal transaction, which was supposedly for securing a significant land title, involved Dhruv Nath collecting the bribe on behalf of Rahiram Mondal. So, they both arrested in bribery charges.
Earlier, on July 18 a Patwari Nurul Hoque Barbhuiya, Patwari, Sadar Circle,Cachar, Silchar arrested after he accepted bribe in office in connection with payment of compensation against land acquired for construction of road.
During search of his house at Sonai, Cachar, cash Rs. 1090000/- (ten lakh ninety thousand) had recovered and seized by Cachar Police.
