The Junior doctors and students of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati, Assam staged a protest against rape and murder of the on Duty Doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, on August 14.
GMCH Doctors has staged the protest in demand of justice and security of the doctors.
The President of Gauhati Medical College Junior Doctor Association, Dr Kumarjyoti Deka said, “This is a solidarity protest. A protest has been going on in West Bengal for 3-4 days now. It has been going on all over India. Ours is a protest supporting that…Our colleague at RG Kar Medical College was assaulted and brutally murdered on duty. So, we are opposing this. We request West Bengal Government and CBI to nab the accused soon and they be punished as per law.”
Today, the CBI team from Delhi has arrived in Kolkata. Following the Calcutta High Court order, the CBI has taken over the Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder case.
Doctors of Sion Hospital in Mumbai also staged protest against Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder incident.
