A Military Helicopter crash in Ghana on Wednesday, 8 people including Defence Minister and Environment Minister killed, the government said.

According to reports the Ghanian Military Helicopter took off in the morning from the Capital of Accra and was heading to Northweast gold-mining town of Obuasi in the Ashanti region when it lost contact with radar. The wreckage was later discovered in the Adansi area of Ashanti.

The exact cause of the Ghana Helicopter crash is not known yet. The investigation is Going on.

Ghana’s Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed were among those killed in the tragic helicopter crash, along with the vice-chair of the ruling National Democratic Congress, a senior National Security Adviser, and several crew members.

Mourners gathered at Boamah’s residence and the party’s headquarters, as the government declared the incident a “national tragedy.” According to state media, the aircraft involved was a Z-9 helicopter, commonly used for transport and medical evacuation.

A video circulating online shows the crash site engulfed in flames, with debris scattered across a forested area as nearby citizens rushed to offer help.
