Assam police arrested Dipankar Barman, a prime accused of Rs 7000 Cr DB Stock scam in Goa. He is police custody in Panaji, Goa. Police reports hinted that he would be brough to Guwahati Today.

The operation was led by ACP Amit Mahato, IPS, from the Pan Bazar division, which marks a crucial step forward investigation with the support of Crime Branch of Goa police in connection.

Police also seized Rs 27 lakh cash from the accused from Barman’s Goa residence during the raid. The DB Stock online trading scam came into light on the last week of August when investor reported that Barman hadnโ€™t paid them the promised returns and had shut down his office.

Dipankar Barman was on the run for past three month and arrested on October 27, 2024 in Goa. Earlier, his parents arrested in connection with the case.

Meanwhile, Assam Director General of Police, GP Singh, lauded Assam Police on X for successfully arresting Dipankar Barman. He stated, โ€œFinally, Dipankar Burman arrested at Goa. The run ends. Congratulations Team @GuwahatiPolโ€

In another tweet he stated, โ€œWell done. God bless the entire team led by CP.โ€

Further investigation is going on. More details about his arrest and the investigation’s next steps are yet to come. City police are expected to share updates as the situation develops.
