Tension has gripped Assam’s Cachar district after a shocking Cachar violence case came to light. A young man was brutally attacked after being wrongly suspected as a Bangladeshi infiltrator. The incident has raised serious concerns over mob behaviour and identity-based violence in border areas.

Mob Attack Leaves Youth Critical

The incident took place late Sunday night in the Swadir Khal area under Katigorah. According to local sources, the victim, Hussain Ahmed, was travelling from Saidpur to Gumra. However, a group of miscreants stopped him near a bridge.

Soon after, the situation turned violent. The attackers allegedly mistook him for an infiltrator. As a result, they began assaulting him without verification. The beating continued for a long time. Eventually, they left him unconscious by the roadside.

Meanwhile, locals noticed the situation. They quickly stepped in and rescued the injured youth. Without delay, he was rushed to Kalain Hospital. However, due to the severity of his injuries, doctors referred him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

Hospital sources confirmed that his condition remains critical. He is currently battling for his life.

Rising Concern Over Border Vigilantism

This Cachar violence has triggered fear among residents in the region. Many believe such incidents are increasing due to suspicion and misinformation. Moreover, the lack of proper verification before action is becoming dangerous.

Local residents have expressed anger over the incident. At the same time, they are demanding strict action against those involved. Incidents like this highlight the urgent need for awareness and law enforcement intervention.

Authorities are expected to investigate the matter thoroughly. In addition, officials may take steps to prevent such mob actions in the future.

For now, the focus remains on the victim’s recovery. But the larger question still stands—how to stop such violence before it escalates again.
