Birendra Kumar, the branch manager of Central Bank of India’s Dhamdhama branch, was caught red-handed by the CID on Thursday evening while taking a bribe of ₹5,000 from a customer in return for approving a loan.
The investigation started in the evening and went on until about 2:20 AM. After gathering evidence, the CID team arrested the bank official.
Birendra Kumar did not speak to the media after his arrest. It’s worth noting that this bank branch has faced corruption complaints in the past as well.
