Cachar Police on 8 August seized a huge amount of drugs worth Rs.5 Crore and arrested suspected drug peddler in Silchar.
On August 8, Cachar Police along with Assam Rifle Intelligence and of Military Intelligence launched a successful campaign in the area Katalroad point Bypass. The police intercepted a bike and arrested an individual. After searching the individual police recovered 18,000 Yaba Tablet from the possession of him.
The arrested individual identified as Mahabub Alam of Karimganj. It have been said that the drug peddler was caught with the Yaba Tablets while trying to smuggle it from Karimganj to Silchar.
