Shortly after, the situation turned deadly. Reports suggest the attackers opened fire on him. They also beat him with sticks. As a result, he died on the spot. The incident created fear and tension across the village.

Police believe the Cachar murd*r is connected to a long-running land dispute. Locals had earlier raised concerns about rising tensions in the area. However, the conflict took a violent turn this time.

Soon after the incident, police reached the spot. The body was recovered and sent to Silchar Medical College for post-mortem. Meanwhile, a rapid investigation was launched.

Within hours, police arrested four suspects. They have been identified as Saharul Haque Laskar (27), Sajul Islam Laskar (26), Babul Haque Choudhury (34), and Suzan Aktar Laskar (18). All are residents of Cachar district.

During the operation, officials also seized weapons. These include two 12-bore rifles, a .22 pistol, ammunition, and mobile phones. Investigators are now examining digital evidence to understand the sequence of events.
