In a decisive move to protect public safety, the Cachar District Administration has imposed restrictions on public access to certain tourist spots in the Sindura area under Katigorah Revenue Circle. The decision was taken after officials identified several safety risks, including poor infrastructure, lack of disaster preparedness, and inadequate safety measures.
The order, issued on Wednesday under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, is effective immediately and will remain in force until further notice.
To ensure enforcement, local authorities, police personnel, and Village Defence Parties have been instructed to strictly monitor the restricted zones. The administration has assured that tourist access will only resume once all necessary safety and disaster management measures are in place.
Citizens are urged to cooperate and avoid visiting these locations during the restriction period. The administration emphasized that this proactive step is meant to prevent any mishaps and uphold public safety.
