In Majuli, re-polling is being held at Kachikata Adarsha ME School after a tense incident on May 2. Security has been strengthened with both police and paramilitary forces. A total of 735 voters from Baruah Chuk, Gopalchuk, and Kathal Chapori are voting again.
In Dhakuakhana, re-polling started at two polling stations—5th Bogoriguri Ward in East Dhakuakhana and 8th Ward at Khajuha Tribal Higher Secondary School in West Dhakuakhana. The State Election Commission ordered re-polling due to earlier rule violations. Voting started at 7:30 AM. At first, voters at the Khajuha station threatened to boycott the polls over political interference, but they later changed their minds and voted. The Khajuha station has 777 voters, and the Bogoriguri station has 809. Even elderly people were seen lining up early to vote.
