Assam Police, with support of Kalapani Police Station conduct a major operation in Barbilla’s Amtenga region, South Slamara-Mankachar, Assam from where they recovered large cache of explosives on Sunday night.
Based on tip off, police launched an operation in Barbilla’s Amtenga region led by Additional Superintendent of Police Pratap Das. During the operation police seized 760 explosive sticks, 400 CDET ALFA detonators, 125 CDET ELECTRA and other related materials. One man arrested in connection of it.
The explosive sticks was packed in 38 while polythene bag. Additionally, police found 55 bundles of blue explosive wires and three bundles of electric wires in red, blue, and black. They also recovered six packets of white cement and tools like scissors and cutters used for handling explosives.
The arrested man identified as Ijazul Miah (40), from Amtenga village in Barbilla. Further investigation is going on to determine the origin and intended use of explosive. Police also questioning Ijazul Miah at the Kalapani police Station.
