A Police officer has been suspended over bribery charges in Namtola, Sibsagar of Assam.
According to reports, the office-in-charge of Namtola Police Station, Shivsagar, Assam Mridul Baruah suspended from service. He has suspended following internal investigation into serious allegation.

As per sources, he allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 5 lakh in exchange to release an arms supplier. This led to serious concern in the police force and a formal investigation was launched.
At first, he was kept under reserve close, a temporary disciplinary measure. After the investigation, he officially suspended from the service.
The suspension shows the department’s commitment to honesty and discipline within the police force.
Further investigation is going on to find that anyone other than the officer is involved in the case.
