Ambitious Vision for Environment-Friendly Transportation
Expressing a commitment to a cleaner Guwahati, CM Sarma declared that by 2025, all diesel-run buses in the city will cease operations, with a complete shift to electric public vehicles. Additionally, a plea issued to auto-rickshaw drivers, Ola-Uber operators, and private bus owners to transition to electric vehicles.
Security Boost with CCTV-Equipped Buses
Ensuring passenger safety, each air-conditioned electric bus will be equipped with CCTV cameras. This strategic move not only contributes to a secure commuting environment but also enables law enforcement to take prompt action against any offenses.
Affordable Fares and GPS Navigation Integration
Introducing a minimum fare of Rs 10, the revamped bus service aims to be accessible to all. GPS navigation has incorporated into the buses to optimize routes, reduce travel time, and minimize disruptions caused by traffic.

Beyond the immediate initiatives, CM Sarma highlighted upcoming projects. Which includes the construction of India’s first modern river ferry terminal at Fancy Bazar.
