At least nine people killed and 41 injured after a group of Terrorist open fire on a bus carrying pilgrims in Jammu & Kashmir โ€™s Reasi district on Sunday evening.

The bus was going from Shiv Khori to Khatra cave temple. It came under attack in Teryath village in Pouni area of Reasi district at around 6:10 pm according to Police. Due to firing incident, the bus driver lost control of the bus and it fell into the George. Several empty bullets have found from the scene. Rescue operation has swiftly conducted, and injured people were transported to nearby hospital.

Senior officials has arrived at the scene. Mohita Sharma Reasi Senior Superintendent of Police said that, โ€œInitial reports suggest that terrorists fired upon the passenger bus going from Shiv Khori to Katra. Due to the firing, the bus driver lost control and it fell into the gorge. Thirty-three people injured in the incident. The rescue operation has completed. The identities of the passengers have not confirmed yet, they are not locals. Shiv Khori shrine secured and area domination done.โ€

She also said, โ€œitโ€™s clear case of terror attack. The area has sanitized and search operation has launched.โ€

Visuals from the site showed that the bus has damaged and some bodies scattered along a hillside.

After the incident Police, Army and Paramilitary forces rushed to the spot. They first rescue all the injured and sent them to hospital for treatment.

Top Leaders expressed condolence over Jammu & Kashmir Terrorist Attack

President of India Droupadi Murmu stated, “I am anguished by the terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. This dastardly act is a crime against humanity, and must be condemned in the strongest words. The nation stands with the families of the victims. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Amit Shah expressed deep sorrow over the attack through is social media platform. He stated, โ€œDeeply pained by the incident of the attack on pilgrims in Reasi, J&K. Spoke to the Lieutenant Governor and the DGP, J&K, and inquired about the incident. The culprits of this dastardly attack will not be spared and will face the wrath of the law. The local administration is working on a war footing to provide immediate medical attention. May the Almighty give the loved ones of the deceased the strength to bear this pain. I also pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.โ€
