A tragic accident took place in Jaipur, Rajasthan, where a truck carrying chemical collide with several other vehicle and caught fire on Friday morning. Seven individual as well as 37 other injured in this accident.
According to reports, the accident took place in front of a petrol pump on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway in the area of Bhankrota, Jaipur in the morning. After the collision of the truck dozens of vehicle caught fire. Videos that taken from distance can seen the accident site which was thick of smokes from the vehicles that caught fire.
Some people sustained burns injuries in the accident.
Station House Officer (SHO), Bhankrota, Manish Gupta said, โThe fire engulfed several trucks. The number of trucks involved in the incident is not clear. Some people with burn injuries have rushed to hospitals in ambulances.โ
A 300-meter stretch of the highway affected by the accident, causing traffic to come to a standstill and creating a long line of vehicles. Meanwhile, a special traffic route set up to take the injured to SMS Hospital.
Emergency Services reached to the accident area
Emergency service, Fire brigades are at the spot and are trying to bring the blaze under uncontrol.
Jaipur District Magistrate Jitendra Soni stated that at around 40 vehicle catches fire in the incident.
More than 25 ambulances are at the spot and sifted injured people to the hospital.
An eyewitness stated through ANI, โI and my friend were travelling from Rajsamand to Jaipur…Our bus suddenly stopped around 5.30 in the morning and we heard a massive blast. There was fire everywhere around the bus…The door of the bus was locked so we broke the window and jumped out of the bus. Along with us, around 7-8 more people jumped from the window. There were continuous blasts one after the other. There was a petrol pump nearby…โ
Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma stated about the Jaipur incident
Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma took social media platform X. He stated, โI am deeply saddened to hear the sad news of casualties of citizens in the gas tanker fire incident on Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. As soon as the information about the incident received, he went to SMS Hospital and directed the doctors to provide immediate necessary medical facilities and take proper care of the injured. Rescue work by the administration is continuing. The local administration and emergency services are working with full readiness. I pray to the Lord to grant the departed souls a place in his supreme abode, give the bereaved families strength to bear this immense loss and provide speedy recovery to the injured.โ
He also added in another post, โAfter the unfortunate incident of fire in a gas tanker on Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway, he reached the spot, took stock of the situation and inspected the relief and rescue operations. On this occasion, guidelines given to the officers present to take immediate action as per the seriousness of the incident and to ensure necessary arrangements to prevent such incidents in future.โ
