A heinous incident took place in Lala Railway Station, Hailakandi, Assam where two men arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a woman inside a stationary train coach. The incident took place on Wednesday late night. This incident has shocked the region as woman is not even safe in railway station.
The two accused men identified as Binod Baspar of Sefalika Sarani Road (Word no.1) and Pankaj Deb of Public School Road- both are resident of Lala town. Police arrest the accused men aand taken into custody after the victim filed a complained against the accused.
According to FIR, the victim married woman from Vernerpur Tea Estate, had visited Lala Railway Station at 11 Pm to book a Tatkal ticket for Karnataka. She was accompanied by her sister husband.
The FIR stated that the two accused began to abused her sister’s husband with obscene language which forced him to leave the station premises.
The victim further alleged that the two accused armed with sharp weapon, created a scene by shouting and threatening, which made the bystanders to fled the scene. When the victim also wanted to flee, the accused Binod allegedly grabbed her and forcefully dragged her into a parked train coach, where he raped her, reported in FIR.
Following the incident, the woman logged an FIR against the accused in the Lala Police Station. Lala police confirmed that both accused arrested and investigation is going on.
