Back to back incident in Guwahati, On December 27, two dead bodies recovered from the Brahmaputra River in Gaoburha Para ghat in Guwahati, just day after a woman was murder.
Local residents discovered the floating dead bodies and immediately called the Jalukabari police station.
The dead bodies were identified as Hirakjyoti Das and Juhi Das, residents of Garigaon, Guwahati. Juhi Das, an eight-grade girl student who went missing from Tuesday. The brother of the girl identified her by recognizing her clothing, the anklet on her feet and the mehndi on her hands. Her face was swollen and unrecognizable after being in the water for a long time.
According to reports, Juhi went missing since Tuesday evening and CCTV footage showed Hirakjyoti taking her with him. Following it, Juhi’s family lodged a complaint at police station. There are claims that the matter was not handled urgently.
Hirakjyoti Das, a married man, employed as a school vehicle driver who regularly transported Juhi to and from school.
Further investigation is going on.
Earlier on December 26, a murder took place in Guwahati where a man stabbed a woman on the road .
