A Tragic Road Accident took place in Katigorah area of Cachar District this morning after a truck collide with a man and cows. This accident result death of an individual.
The accident took place on the national high way near Hilara tea plantation and Madua Bridge in Katigorah, Cachar. According to reports, a tipper truck numbered TR 05 E 1588 was travelling towards Kalain at High speed. At that time the man named Anjan Das was walking in the opposite direction with three cows.
Suddenly, the truck loss control and hit the cows and Anjan Das and overturned in the place. Anjan Das dragged under the vehicle and injured badly. The cows also dragged under the truck.
Unfortunately, Anjan Das died in the spot because of injury. Local Police went to the scene and recovered the dead body of Anjan Das and sent for Post-mortem at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
After the accident the locals attempt to block the road in protest. Former MLA Amar Chand Jain went to the place where the accident took place and interact with the locals. Somehow former MLA convinced the locals and cleared the road.
The police launched an investigation into the accident to determine the exact cause of the accident. The local community mourns on the death of Anjan Das and raised concerns about the road safety in the area.
