In Orang National Park, Assam, a forest guard mutilated body was found after hours missing on August 28, who was killed by a tiger while on duty.
The forest guard identified as Dhanmoni Deka, age 25 residents of Sipajhar area of Darrang district of Assam.
According to officials, Dhanmoni Deka went missing at around 5 pm on Wednesday while he was on duty and his dead body recovered at around 10:30 pm.
The forest guard dead body found 50 meters away from his original location of guarding at Orang National Park. A part of his body was missing which marks that he was killed by wild animals.
Darrang Superintendent of Police (SP) Prakash Sonowal stated that initial findings from the forest department suggest Deka was dragged and kills by a tiger.
Dhanmoni has married just 6 month ago. Family members said that at the time of the attack he was alone at the site and he did not have any firearms at the time of the attack. The family demanded proper investigation.
The dead body of the forest guard has sent for post mortem. Forest department has launched investigation.
