The operation launched on Thursday morning in the area of Tral, Awantipora. Three unidentified terrorist killed in the encounter. This operation launched, based on specific intelligence input from Int agency, a Cordon & Search Operation launched by Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and SRPF Srinagar at Nader, Tral, Awantipora.
The Security troops noticed suspicious movement and, when challenged, the terrorists opened heavy fire, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire. The operation is currently ongoing.
The China Corps – Indian Army stated, “OP NADER, Awantipora On 15 May 2025, based on specific intelligence input from Int agency, a Cordon & Search Operation was launched by #IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPoliceand @crpf_srinagar at Nader, Tral, Awantipora. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops and on being challenged, terrorists opened heavy fire and fierce gunfight ensued. Operation is in progress.”

They updated the operation and stated, “Three hardcore terrorists have been eliminated in the ongoing Operation at Nader, Awantipora. Identity of terrorists is being ascertained.”
Earlier on May 13, Three terrorists including the local commander of LeT/ TRF encounter. The three were actively involved in recent terror activities in the region. Recoveries from the operation include AK series rifles, large quantity of ammunition, grenades and other war like stores.
