A shocking event took place at Vishal Mega Mart in Silchar, raising concerns about customer safety. On Tuesday, April 2, Salimul Hoque Laskar from Baskandi, Cachar went shopping there. While he was on the second floor, the building had several power outages. During one of these outages, someone stole Salimul’s phone and some cash.
Salimul didn’t notice any danger and continued his shopping inside the well-known store. As he moved around the store, the power went out several times, making him vulnerable. When he reached the checkout counter, he realized that his phone and around Rs 8000 were missing.
After discovering the theft, Salimul went to the manager to check the CCTV footage. Unfortunately, he was disappointed to find out that there were no surveillance cameras on the second floor. This raised worries about customer safety in Vishal Mega Mart. Salimul suspected that someone from the inside might have been involved in the theft.
During his conversation with the manager, Salimul asked about the store’s methods to stop items from being taken without payment. But it seemed like there wasn’t much effort to improve customer safety, and there were reports of staff behaving badly towards upset customers.
