What will the cost of Tesla Cars in India
Tesla is set to enter the Indian market with two versions of its popular Model Y SUV. The rear-wheel drive variant will be priced at ₹60.1 lakh (approximately $70,000), while the long-range version will cost ₹67.8 lakh (around $79,000).
These prices are considerably higher than in other major markets — for instance, the Model Y starts at around ₹38.6 lakh ($44,990) in the United States, ₹30.5 lakh ($36,700) in China, and ₹46 lakh ($53,700) in Germany. The steep pricing in India is largely attributed to the country’s high import duties on fully built electric vehicles.
Despite the premium cost, Tesla is expected to cater to affluent urban buyers and luxury EV enthusiasts. It will be entering a high-end electric vehicle segment in India currently dominated by German brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
