The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police recovered and seized Rs 2 Crore Worth Heroin At ISBT, Betkuchi, Guwahati on Wednesday. They also arrest a drug peddler.
Based on secret input, STF conducted an operation in the area of ISBT, Betkuchi of Guwahati and recovered 19 soap boxes containing 239.5 grams of heroin. The worth of the heroin is Rs 2 Crore.
A drug peddler arrested, identified as Nurul Haque (45) from Dholai in the Cachar district. He was arrested at the ISBT in Betkuchi.
Pranab Jyoti Goswami, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Assam Police, stated, “Acting on intelligence input, a team of STF conducted a raid inside ISBT and apprehended a drug peddler while he was attempting to smuggle contraband.”
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, “In a swift and commendable operation, STF Assam successfully recovered narcotics valued at ₹2 crore at ISBT, Betkuchi. Items seized include:
19 soap boxes containing 239.5 grams of heroin
A mobile phone
One individual has been apprehended in this matter with legal proceedings in progress.
