Sribhumi Police has arrested four robbers within 48 hours after of a daring dacoity in Chamela village under Ramkrishnanagar police station on Sunday. Police also recovered ₹1.43 lakh in cash, gold ornaments, and tools used in the crime.
The robbery incident took place in the early hours of Thursday at the residence of Rahul Paul and Rajdeep Paul. The robbers gang has looted Rs. 2 Lakh in cash and more than 20 tolas of gold.
According to the reports, Tuton Das, identified as the member of BJP Yuva Morcha, who said to be the mastermind of the Robbery. Other individuals are Tapas Paul, Bappi Paul and Sourav Paul. Police also recovered at around Rs 1.5 Lakh in cash from the residence of Saurav Paul in Dolu, where as the money was hidden by Tapas and Bappi Paul. In addition, some of the tools were recovered which is used for breaking into the house were also seized.

Sribhumi Police Senior Superintendent Partha Protim Das stated that a case has been registered under Sections 302/2 and 311 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Acting on technical evidence and intensive investigation, the police arrested four individuals. “We have so far identified around seven people connected to the crime, and more arrests are expected soon,” he said.
The SSP revealed that the first arrest was made within 24 hours of the robbery. He further informed that Tutan Das was the key instigator, who lured others into the dacoity by promising quick and easy money.
Further investigation is going on.
