Social Security old Age Pension:

  • The monthly pension – RS 200 (or the amount fixed by the respective state) for persons between 60 years and 79 years of age will be provided.
  • For persons who are 80 years and above the pension is RS 500 (or the amount fixed by the respective state) per month.
  • Without cross signature on photograph and signature on the undertaking, the application will be rejected.
  • ย Do not submit fake documents as proof to obtain this certificate
  • Incomplete application will be rejected.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
  • Applicant will be penalized if any information provided by the applicant while applying for this scheme is being found false or incorrect.

Eligibility Criteria for The Scheme:

  • Applicant should be citizen of India
  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of the respective state.
  • No person shall be eligible for the pension, if the person applied for any other Social Welfare pensions.
  • Age should be 60 and above.
  • The applicant should fall under Below Poverty Line (BPL).
  • Applicant should not be a recipient of salary/ pension/ family pension from central governments.
  • Any person receiving pension from any government or local /statutory body or from any organization substantially financed by any government or local / statutory body will not be eligible to apply for this scheme.

How to Apply for Social Security Old Age Pension Scheme in Meghalaya:

  • To Apply Social Security Old Age Pension Scheme, the applicant has to approach respective โ€œCSCโ€ centerย Link

NOTE: The applicant has to select state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centers.

  • Please visit the center and consult with the center operator for your requirement.
  • If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
  • Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the โ€œRequired Documentsโ€ section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  • The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  • Applicant has to make necessary payment as center operator quotes and donโ€™t forget to take the receipt.
  • This application will forward to the respective department for further processing.
  • โ€SMSโ€ triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicantโ€™s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  • The submitted application will process by the department. A designated authority (supply officer) will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicantโ€™s details.
  • Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will decide on the issuance of the family card.
  • The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will convey to the applicant through an โ€œSMSโ€ or applicable norms.
  • If approved, the ration card will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per the applicable norms within 60 days or as per the timeline advised
