The Silchar Municipal Corporation has issued a warning to the households, commercial establishments and contractors for illegally Dumping of Construction Waste on footpath, public roads, drains or open area. As it blocked the footpath, public roads, drains or open area.
Any individual, agency, or organization found illegally dumping or storing construction and demolition (C&D) waste in a way that blocks public movement or harms the environment will face:
- Immediate seizure of materials
- Fines and penalties
- Legal action under the Assam Municipal Corporation Act, 2022 (Section 254)
Proper Waste Disposal Required
All stakeholders are advised to dispose of C&D waste using authorized and eco-friendly methods, and to coordinate with the Silchar Municipal Corporation’s Solid Waste Management department.

The SMC has requested all involved to use proper and eco-friendly methods to dispose of C&D waste by coordinating with the Solid Waste Management Department.
