A Final Year MBBS Student of Silchar Medical College and Hospital has commit suicide by hanging himself at his home in Tarapur, Silchar, Assam on Tuesday, August 3, 2024.
According to reports, the 24 years old Biporjit Kar, final year student of SMCH has found hanging in his room that was locked inside. During investigation a suicide Note has been found in the room.
Sourced said that Biporjit Kar and his mother Santana Kar were scheduled to take train on Tuesday at 10 pm for Bangalore. After the dinner at 8.30 pm he said her mother that he would take short walk downstairs. Instead, he went to the first floor of their house, where neighbours saw him walking back and forth in an anxious manner.
Suddenly he entered in a room and locked the door. After a while his mother called out repeatedly but received no response, she began to panic and screamed for help. By listening the screamed neighbours rushed to the scene and broke down the door. They found him hanging from the ceiling fan.
They called the police immediately. The Police and a magistrate arrived at the scene immediately. Biporjit Kar dead body recovered and sent it to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post mortem examination. During the investigation police also recovered a suicide note in the room. The note reveals that Biprojit was struggling with depression, which lead to take this step.
The suicide note stated, “Mother, please forgive me. I am leaving you. I can no longer endure my depression, and my chest hurts too much. I am committing suicide today of my own free will. No one is responsible for my death.”
A Neighbour Said about the Silchar Medical College and Hospital Final-year MBBS Student Suicide
A neighbour said, “They were just two of them in their family-he and his mother. They wanted to go Bangalore because he had fracture in his arm and wanted to get treatment there. They are schedule to board a train to Guwahati at 10 pm on Tuesday and then catch a flight from Guwahati to Bangalore. At Around 8.30 pm they get their dinner. After dinner he said to his mother that he was coming from short walk from doenstairs. He was a quite person and doesn’t interact much with others as he always busies in study. He was preparing for finals exam in March. We never saw him in bad company, as he had academic pressure from which he didn’t get time.”
He also added, “After dinner he went to an empty room of their house and closed the door. We have no idea from where he got rope. After he went inside the room we hear his mother is screaming “Sonu, Sonu (Nick name). We heard the screaming and went to their house. We also called him, even if he felt asleep, he have heard us. When we realize that somethinh might wrong, we broke the door. After breaking the door we saw inside he was hanging to the ceiling fan.” He was the only son of Santana Kar and the late Benimadhab Kar.
This incident has shocked the local community. The police launched an investigation on the case.
