A shocking incident took place in Silchar, where a class 10 girl student abducted by four men during school hours from near her school on Friday (July 4) morning.
The crime rate of the Barak valley is rising continuously and also rise the question of woman safety. The Class 10 students belongs to Town School Silchar, located Steamer Ghat Road, Silchar.
According to information, the class 10 students Rumana Begum, along with her younger cousin sister Parvina Begum Laskar, were going to school, when a four wheeler stopped near the ghat of the Silchar Town High School from Dhakai Patty. Within a second three men dragged Rumana into the vehicle and fled away from the area. When her cousin tried to intervene, men pushed her way.

A Teacher of the school, Hussain Ahmed Mazumder stated, “the girl were on their way to school when the car stopped and three men forced Rumana into it. When the cousin tried to stopped, she was pushed away.” At the time of the incident no shop was open, and very few people was on the road.
He also added that the sister immediately informed their parents, who run to the spot and filed a complain at Malugram Thana.
The kidnapped girl, originally from Hailakandi. She lives with her family on rent in the Ghaniwala area of Silchar.
The incident has trigged a panic among the students, residents of the area and also raised a question on woman safety as the incident has occurred during school hours.
Cachar police has launched investigation into the matter. Efforts are on to identify the car and arrest the culprits.
