Cachar Police in a major operation, managed to seized Rs.5 Crore worth narcotics from a passenger bus near ISBT Silchar on June 20, 2025.
Based on tip-off received three days ago, a team of Cachar police lead by SP Numal Mahatta was on alert and launched an operation. In ISBT police intercepted a passenger bus which was travelling form Churanchanpur, Manipur via Mizoram.
After searching the bus Police managed to recovered, “3.095kg morphine, 240 carton Burmese cigarette and 560 Godzilla products. Three people arrested in connection of it.”
The arrested persons identified as Saidul Rahman, Nasir Khan and Kamtiangsang.
SP Mahatta stated that, “ About 3 days ago, we received a secret information about this Manipur bus, which was coming from Churachandpur via Mizoram. Since, then our special police team have been Lailapur, scouting for it and just morning, we followed the nus and intercepted it.”
He also added that, the suspects tried to flee from the scene by overspeeding while on the bypass but managed to stoped.
