A Tragic incident took place at Silchar Central Jail on June 11, 2024. A prisoner of the jail took his own life. The Prison gaurds of the Silchar Central Jail found him hanging from the ceiling from inside his cell.
According to reports, the prisoner, identified as Dilowar Hussain from Kachudaram area of Sonai. The Prison guards of the jail discovered his body hanging and took immediate action. Dilowar has been arrested for a case of sexual harassment and sent him to jail.
Silchar Sadar Police OC and Silchar Tarapur Police Post IC has come to Silchar Central Jail after they known about the incident. The dead body of the prisoner has recovered and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
Speaking to media, his maternal uncle said, “Dilowar Hussain has trapped in false rape case and police arrested him. For bail we have filed petitions three to four times all are denied. Kachudaram Police has arrested him in false case three month ago and sent him to jail. We don’t know why he did he took such decision.”
Police are now investigating why did he made such decision and what was his motive behind this to solve the mystery.
After the postmortem examination, Hussain’s dead body handed over to his family for last rites. While questions rise what made lead him to take this distressing decision inside a jail.
The police have now actively investigating the matter.
