A minor girl rescued successfully by Guwahati Police who was abducted on February 7, 2025 from Borpathar in Golaghat district.
The victim girl is identified as Nicholes Higher Secondary School. According to information, the girl was abducted by a group of youths from Manipuri Basti area in Paltan Bazar.
As sources, the girl was lured by one youth who called her out from her home, it is suspected that the youth is known to girl. Before kidnapping, the youth known to her allegedly fed her intoxicating substances. After then the group transported her to Borpathar in Golaghat district from where she rescued by Paltan Bazar police.
Speaking to media, a senior police officer stated, “The minor girl had been kidnapped by the suspected who we believe is her lover. She had been missing since February 7. While we recover her safely today.”
The police managed to arrest one of the group of kidnappers, while three remain fled from the scene during operation.
Further investigation is going on and police continuing of search operation to apprehend the remaining suspect.
