A Woman from Pakistan have been living, Assam’s Tinsukia with her family since 2022. She lives in Rangaliya Road and run a shop. She has married with a local man since 2013. However, Rabia has not applied for Indian citizenship, which has raised concerns after the Home Ministry directed state Chief Ministers to track Pakistani nationals residing in India.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that Rabia is the only Pakistani citizen living in the state. She had applied for the long-term visa and the government is waiting for the central authorities to decide if she should be allowed to stay.

CM Sarma stated media, “We have only one Pakistani citizen in Tinsukia district. She is married to a local man from Assam, but originally she is from Pakistan. She has applied for a long-term visa, and we have requested the Government of India to verify whether she should be sent back or not. That is the only case; otherwise, we don’t have any Pakistani nationals residing in Assam.”
